The largest risk is getting a quality product on a short run and short time frame.
I have a manufacturer I have worked with on previous projects lined up to produce the whole product including QC prior to shipment.
A large portion of the design is fairly standard in the manufacturing and this will help with quality and speed of delivery. We shouldn't have any issues with our first-article components because of this and should very quickly be able to go to production samples.
As soon as we get funded the following lead times will apply:
a. Tooling -- 21-30 days
(to first-article component
samples).
b. Samples -- 14 days
(to production-grade cable
samples).
c. Production -- 30 days
(to final-inspection).
Time frame includes in-process oversight and final US Mil-Spec inspection; includes delivery to FOB Hong Kong Port.
From there we will arrange delivery via international carrier priority bulk to a pick and pack order fulfillment warehouse in the United States.
At that point our backers rewards will be packed and delivered.
We have avoided the big holidays in China where everything shuts down for a full month. Although we are getting close to Christmas rush for manufacturing, our design fits into production cycles and can be easily appended to other companies large orders. This should streamline our time frame and delivery dates.
